SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY The Connecticut Association of Professional Financial Aid Administrators (CAPFAA) is pleased to announce the CAPFAA Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year. We are excited to be able to award six (6) non-renewable $1,000 scholarships to three (3) eligible undergraduate and three (3) eligible graduate students in pursuit of higher education in the State of Connecticut. About CAPFAA CAPFAA consists of financial aid administrators from postsecondary institutions and members of educational institutions, government agencies, and private and community organizations concerned with the support and administration of student financial aid. CAPFAA was established in 1969 to serve the interests and needs of students and their families through the financial aid process. Specifically, CAPFAA assists in promoting and developing effective programs of student financial aid. The association additionally facilitates communication and cooperation among educational institutions and sponsors of student aid funds by sponsoring conferences and training sessions on relevant issues in student financial aid. Eligibility Criteria In order to be an eligible applicant for this scholarship award, all candidates must be attending current CAPFAA member institutions and meet the following requirements:

•For Undergraduate Students: be enrolled in a postsecondary institution as a full-time undergraduate student in a degree program OR in a certificate program of at least 900 clock hours, 24 semester hours, or 36 quarter hours.•For Graduate Students: be enrolled in a postsecondary institution as a graduate or professional student in a degree or certificate program on at least a half-time basis.•Have completed a minimum of one term or semester of full-time study or at least one half of a clock hour or non-term-based program.•Must demonstrate a Student Aid Index (SAI)/Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) that denotes federal Pell grant eligibility (graduate & professional students must demonstrate a comparable EFC/SAI) by providing a copy of their Student Aid Report (SAR)/FAFSA Submission Summary for the 2024-2025 aid year (or substitute 2023-2024 information, if 2024-2025 information is yet unavailable).•Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent).•Must have performed unpaid community service or volunteer activities in the past twenty-four (24)months, not related to educational credit.•Not be a prior CAPFAA Scholarship winner, CAPFAA member, or an immediate relative of a CAPFAA member.

Other Information Each recipient and guest will need to submit a short video bio/Thank You prior to CAPFAA's Annual Business Meeting held on June 5, 2024 for the Scholarship Presentation. Upon verification of enrollment, the scholarship check will be made payable to and sent directly to the recipient’s institution in the Fall of 2024 (students who have not shared 2024-2025 aid eligibility information must do so prior to check delivery).Application and all required attachments must be submitted electronically no later than Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 11:59 pm via the online submission link:
